Silverton Mortgage Receives Atlanta Business Chronicle's 2010 Pacesetter Award for Fastest Growing Private Companies
-
Silverton Mortgage was recently named one of Atlanta's fastest-growing privately held companies by Atlanta Business Chronicle. The Atlanta Business Chronicle annually publishes a list of the top 50 companies within the community based on revenue and employee growth over a two-year period. Even in tough economic times, Silverton was among companies in the Atlanta metro that grew by more than 50% during the last two years; and that increased their staff. Among the mortgage companies honored, Silverton placed as the company with the most growth.
-
According to the Business Chronicle, qualifying companies had to be privately owned, based in the 20-county metro Atlanta area and not be a subsidiary of another company. Companies had to be established in the first quarter of 2006 or earlier, and have 2008 revenue between $1 million and $300 million. The companies are ranked according to a growth index formula, which is used to even the field among companies of different sizes.
-
Silverton's President, Josh Moffitt, attributes the company's growth to its decision several years ago to develop its platform as a correspondent lender. Moffitt explains, ''We started as a correspondent lender when the industry as a whole did not realize the merits of embracing extra responsibility in transactions. By developing the correspondent lending foundation, which keeps the entire process internal while still accessing rates from multiple banks and investors, we have been able to give our clients the most competitive products, improve communication, and speed up processing times. While the industry itself is shrinking, Silverton has continued to grow by attracting the most talented sales and office staff in the southeast.''

Silverton has always respected the opportunities that the Atlanta area and the community's dynamic entrepreneurial spirit have provided to us. We're very honored to have been recognized with this award.''
-
An entrepreneur who knows the value of customer service, Moffitt takes pride in having developed the correspondent lending platform which keeps the entire process in-house, providing clients with more competitive rates, lower costs, and faster closings.
